Today there are so many diets out there on the market, but I am going to show you how you can eat every 3 hours and become healthy and lose weight.
Today there are many diets out there to confuse us all. To mention a few: Grapefruit diet, cabbage soup diet, low carb diets, low fat diets, blood type diet, all of which usually end up with us going back to our “before” diet and gaining weight back plus some! The reason is diets don’t work. These diets ask us to drastically give up certain things and exclude certain foods. When you eat every 3 hours, you turn up your metabolism and keep your energy high throughout the day.
The fact is, obesity stems from taking in too many calories and leading a sedentary life style. Most of us don’t get enough exercise with our sit down jobs and then we come home and gravitate towards the couch and TV. That along with high fat, greasy foods and stuffing our faces with way too many calories, adds to the obesity epidemic. You can figure out how many calories you need to eat in a days time to maintain your weight loss. Then divide that into how many times you would eat every 3 hours. Say you eat breakfast at 7 a.m., then you would eat again at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. Of course you will have to eat lesser portions at each meal, but this will keep your metabolism burning calories. Your body will not be forced to go into a starvation mode when you restrict your calories significantly in a lot of the diets out there.
You want to keep in mind you need to stay with your healthy choices, whole grains, wheat products, high protein foods like lean cuts of meat, beans, peanut butter etc. Lots of fruits and veggies, and healthy fats like avocado, walnuts, almonds etc. Remember to drink plenty of water, your body needs it.
The only other thing I would add to this is to get moving, get some kind of exercise in your life. Our bodies were meant to move. That is the key to living to an old age, staying active in your body and mind. Everything in life is in “movement”, so keep your body moving. Build your muscle as we all know muscle burns more calories than fat. 1 pound of muscle burns 50 calories. Grab some weights and start lifting! It doesn’t have to be outrageous, marathon running exercise, start a walking program, dance around the house, play with your kids, just get your body moving, that is the key. Start eating every 3 hours and keep your metabolism on fire!
