Water bongs are great for making an herbal blend that’s easy on the lungs. The water pipes used for smoking marijuana or cigarettes are also known as “water pipes.” They’re basically just big glass tubes into which you pour water and add herbs, then smoke it. What You Need:
Water bong (you can choose any size/shape/brand; we tested several brands and found that the Beaker Bong was the best performer). Glass water bong works well. Plastic ones may be easier to clean, but they tend to crack easily, and you don’t want to leave anything in there.
- Herbs (we tested three varieties):
- Cannabis (marijuana)
- Tulsi leaf
- Lemon balm
- Fennel seed
- Nettle leaves
- Fenugreek seeds
- Chamomile flowers
- Burdock root
- Aloe vera gel
- Apple cider vinegar
You need to fill your water bong about half way full of cold water. We suggest using distilled water because that won’t affect the flavor of your herbs or water bong, but if you can only find tap water, that will work too. Fill a small bowl with water and salt, and mix until the salt has dissolved. Add 2 tablespoons of your chosen herb mixture to the bowl, cover the top tightly with plastic wrap, and shake the bowl vigorously. This helps the herbs soak up water. Let the herbs steep for 20 minutes. After this time, strain the herbs out of the bowl through cheesecloth, and discard the herbs. For a strong hit, use 3 parts cannabis to 1 part herb. For a mellower hit, use 1 part cannabis to 2 parts herb. Don’t worry if you have leftover herbs! You can save them for later or put them in a jar to dry, or even freeze them for future use. Just be sure to store them in an airtight container.
If you’d like a quick fix for dehydration, simply drink a large glass of water and wait 15 minutes. Your body will absorb the water faster than it would from drinking plain water. It’s important to sip water throughout the day, especially when you’re exercising. Drinking enough water keeps you from getting dehydrated.
It’s also important to stay hydrated while you’re using a water bong to avoid getting ill. Drink lots of water during the day and try not to smoke for an hour after you use a water bong. Smoking marijuana increases blood pressure, and too much stress can cause hypertension and lead to stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, brain damage, and liver damage. So if you feel lightheaded, dizzy, or unwell, stop using the water bong immediately.
Try experimenting with different herbs and different amounts of water to find the combination that gives you the best results.
